Exhibit at The Gallery in Sacramento raises mental health awareness

THAT’S THE GOAL OF A NEW ART EXHIBIT IN SACRAMENTO, THE JOURNEY OF HOPE FEATURES LOCAL ARTISTS AND WRITERS SHARING STORIES OF HOPE AND RECOVERY. EACH EXHIBIT PIECE STARTS WITH THE PERSONAL STORY OF A SACRAMENTO COUNTY RESIDENT LIVING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. THEN A LOCAL ARTIST USES THAT STORY TO CREATE AN ART PIECE. ORGANIZERS HOPE TO CREATE UNDERSTANDING AND RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES. WE’RE TALKING ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESS AND THE FEELING OF BEING IN SOLITUDE, EVEN WHILE YOU ARE AROUND PEOPLE. THAT THAT FEELING CAN BE VERY OVERWHELMING FOR A LOT OF US. BUT THANKFULLY THERE’S POETRY BECAUSE I CAN INTERPRET MY FEELINGS AND SUPPORT OTHER PEOPLE TO LET THEM KNOW THEY’RE NOT ALONE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CHECK OUT THE JOURNEY OF HOPE EXHIBIT, IT’S AT THE GALLERY BY WE ARE SACRAMENTO ON DEL PAS
